A new coping skills group starts Wednesday, January 20th at 7:00 pm at the La Plata office.
The coping skills group is an open-ended group with a curriculum grounded in the evidence-based practice, Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy. By the end of the group, the teens will have learned effective ways to self-regulate and will be able to teach parents, caregivers, and friends new ways they cope with, stress, depression, and anxiety.
What will the group cover, and who is appropriate?
- Boys and girls aged 13-16 struggling with depression and anxiety
- Relaxation skills
- Emotion recognition and appropriate expression
- Social Support
Who needs to attend?
Teenagers (ages 13-16) will attend each week
