The Center for Children’s Executive Director Catherine Meyers and Substance Use Program Manager Abigail Brooks with Governor Larry Hogan after he announced the funding for the Center’s new Adolescent Substance Use Program at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center.
Governor Hogan formally created the Heroin and Opioid Emergency Task Force—a group made up of law enforcement professionals, elected officials, and substance abuse experts—to address Maryland’s heroin and opioid crisis. The Center for Children received grant funding for a new DHMH-licensed program to treat adolescents affected by substance use. The Center for Children is committed to helping the children and families in Southern Maryland that are battling substance abuse.
